I joined Vistaprint's Campus Recruiting Team and oversaw the activities for a cohort of 30 summer interns, designed and ordered company swag and signage in anticipation of upcoming career fairs, and assisted in the hiring of multiple candidates.
The Campus Recruiting team at the time included my manager and me. I successfully supported all recruiting activities through reviewing and sorting resumes collected at career fairs of major universities in New England, recreated all company signage and swag using Vistaprint’s internal design system, and conducted interviews via phone screens and in-person conversations. I also facilitated some tough conversations concerning declines, and helped extend several offers to qualified candidates.
I honed my skills in communicating most effectively and confidently with different stakeholders. I had the opportunity to establish relationships with vendors, university personnel, and Vistaprint and Cimpress’ C-Suite executives, all of which required different tones and methods of communication.
During the 10-week summer intern program, I coordinated several “lunch & learns” with key executives from around the company, social outings to laser tag and a Red Sox game, and a farewell party at the Museum of Science. Most of this required excellent communication and organisation skills, and I found myself keep track of all of my priorities meticulously.
